The image of a female stone carved statue by Daniel Silver standing behind a yellow colour glass could easily be a scene out of a contemporary art museum but in fact, is the Acne Store in Paris. The brand was housed in an old garage and the creative director Jonny Johansson and the architect in charge Andreas Fornell presented the world with a marvellous retail store out of the norm. The main focus was to keep the elements of the former spatial use but at the same time add a touch of Scandinavian taste. The combination of industrial aesthetic is highlighted with the smart use of reflective metallic surfaces and the use of multiple well placed light fixtures. The space feels like a gallery and the clothes are the exhibits minimalistic, sophisticated and elegant pieces.
